The North Broward Preparatory School boys track and field team had a sensational performance to win the Cardinal Gibbons Annual Invitational on Friday.
The Eagles came in first with a score of 145, which was 6.5 more points than Calvary Christian. NBP won six events, with 12 schools competing in the events.
Deandre Desinor won the 100 meters and came in second in the 200, while Apolo Rodriguez finished first in the 300 hurdles and third in the 100 hurdles. Connor Clyatt was a part of three top finishes after winning the Long Jump and Triple Jump. He also led the 4 x 100 relay team to a win with Micheal Bagot, Marcus Dixon, and Desinor.
Mori Schacter also won the shot put while Dixon, Rodriguez, and Bagot finished second, fourth, and fifth in the long jump. Other top-five finishes for NBP came from Bagot (200 meters), Tate Rowland (100 and 300 hurdles), Rodriguez (High Jump), Roberts (Triple Jump), and Michael McGrath (Discus).
