Monarch High School graduate and incoming University of Missouri freshman football player Jabari Brady is making an impact off the field by giving back to the community that shaped his childhood.
Born in the United States, Brady spent much of his early life in Jamaica before returning to the U.S. at age 9. While he has built his football career in America, he says Jamaica will always hold a special place in his heart, inspiring him to give back through the Jabari Brady Foundation.
Each year, Brady and his mother travel back to Jamaica to support schools and children in need. This year, the foundation is once again hosting its annual Back-to-School Drive, providing backpacks filled with school supplies and other essential items to help students begin the school year prepared for success.
The foundation will personally distribute backpacks, notebooks, folders, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, hygiene products, and other everyday necessities to families who may otherwise struggle to afford them.
Brady says every donation, regardless of size, will have a direct impact by helping children start the school year with the tools they need and by reminding them that they are supported and valued. Through the annual initiative, he hopes to continue investing in the future of Jamaica’s youth, one child and one backpack at a time.
Brady, who won a District Title every year with the Knights, Brady starred at Monarch High School before enrolling at the University of Missouri.
During his high school career, he totaled more than 4,800 receiving yards and 34 touchdowns, recording back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons while earning a spot in the Navy All-American Bowl.
He capped off his senior year with 1,118 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns, including a 209-yard, three-touchdown performance in the opening round of the playoffs.
