Monarch High School has produced standout athletes across several sports, and Jael Hernandez is the latest to continue his career at the next level, having recently announced his commitment to Miami Dade College.
A 2024 graduate of Monarch, Hernandez excelled as both a pitcher and position player during his high school career. He appeared in 11 games on the mound, earning a victory during his senior season while also recording a save as a junior. Hernandez struck out more than a batter per inning throughout his career. At the plate, he hit .306 as a senior with five doubles and finished his high school career with 16 RBIs, 20 runs scored, and 10 stolen bases.
After redshirting as a freshman at Palm Beach State College, Hernandez made an immediate impact this past spring. He appeared in 12 games, posting a 5-2 record with a 3.91 ERA while striking out 58 batters in 48.1 innings. Palm Beach State finished the season 29-23.
Hernandez will now continue his collegiate career at Miami Dade College, joining a program that finished 39-20 this season and advanced to the NJCAA Division I JUCO World Series.
