By: Matt Rothman
Coming off their incredible season where Monarch won their second District Championship in football, the Knights began their summer with a win in a 7 x 7 tournament at the University of Florida.
They won all three games and had two-star receivers receive offers from the University of Florida: Jabari Brady and Samari Reed.
Monarch won all four games in the tournament, including a 19-14 in the championship game, with Brady catching the game-winning touchdown. The incoming sophomore had a dominant first year on varsity, catching 55 passes for 864 yards and six touchdowns. Reed caught 11 passes for 187 yards and also scored three touchdowns.
The Knights only got to play one spring game which lasted only one quarter due to lightning, but they will head into the summer with one of the most talented rosters in Florida. They will open their season against Cedar Grove High School on August 24th before playing in their home opener a week later against Atlantic High School.
