The City of Margate will celebrate the Fourth of July with a day of festivities, including a parade, pool party, a live concert, and fireworks.
The Independence Day festivities will kick off at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 4, with a parade down Margate Boulevard eastbound from 76th Avenue to State Road 7. Immediately following the parade, the Margate Community Redevelopment Agency will provide refreshments and open an obstacle course.
Registration to march in the parade is open and free for anyone wishing to participate. To register, visit margatefl.com/registration.
From 1 to 4 p. m., the Calypso Cove Aquatic Facility, 6200 Royal Palm Boulevard, will host a July 4 pool party featuring face painters and live music by a steel drummer. Admission is $4 for Margate residents and $7 for non-residents.
Starting at 5 p.m., a “Fourth of July Extravaganza” will be held at the northwest corner of Margate Boulevard and State Road 7. The celebration will include food trucks and live music by Attica, a six-piece band playing classic rock and contemporary pop hits.
The events will conclude at the same location with fireworks. The display will light up the Margate skies at 9 p.m. and last about 20 minutes.
“We are so excited to host this wonderful yearly tradition for our residents to enjoy,” said Margate Mayor Antonio Arserio. “You will see a whole lot of red, white, and blue in our Margate.”
