A Coconut Creek man was arrested earlier this month for purposely hitting two men with his car during a domestic violence assault, then reversing and trying to hit them again, court records show.
Anthony Tomasino, 46, of the 2000 block of Northwest 42nd Ave., carried out the vehicular attack on May 21, 2021, leading to the issuing of a warrant and his arrest by Coconut Creek Police on Sept. 3, 2022, according to an arrest affidavit.
Tomasino drove his vehicle toward the two male victims in a parking lot on the block where he lives, intending to strike them both, according to police.
One victim was struck by the car in his stomach and chest area, and the other in his left leg, police said.
“Tomasino then put the vehicle in reverse and drove at the victims for a second time,” according to the affidavit. “This time, the victims were able to jump out of the way.”
One of the victims is a family member of Tomasino, the affidavit states.
Police did not state a motive for the attack in the affidavit.
Tomasino was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Records show he was booked into the Broward County Main Jail and released on an $8,000 bond.
