North Broward Prep and Monarch High School’s varsity football teams scored a combined 114 points to each pick up their third win of the season.
North Broward Prep
The Eagles’ offense continues to shine following their 50-0 win over Northeast High School. It is the second time this season that NBP has scored at least 50 points and moved to 3-1 this season.
Deandre Desinor led the way offensively with a pair of rushing touchdowns and returned an interception for a score. He finished the game with 110 yards on the ground.
Marcus Dixon recorded his third rushing touchdown of the season while Caleb Ayala had one. Quarterback Tyler Shattuck completed ten passes for 103 yards and a touchdown pass to Michael McGrath. Freshman Mason Chapman also got the chance to play and threw for 84 yards.
Defensively, Nico Quintero had an interception. The Eagles had 18 different players record a tackle, with Alex Wigginton, Jack Wigginton, Nolan Van Tol, and Zandher Mesidort, all having three.
Monarch
The Knights’ biggest offensive performance of the season came Friday night against Piper in their 64-42. The 64 points were the most scored by Monarch since they reached 70 in 2014 against Coral Springs High School.
Offensively, A.J. Hairston threw for 326 yards and had four touchdowns. Florida Atlantic commit Walter Parrish caught three touchdowns and had 110 yards. Joshua Pena also scored one, while Jabari Brady threw for a touchdown and also caught one. Willie Reed ran the ball eight times on the ground and scored twice. Mark Harris also scored a touchdown along with a pick-six from Corey Baugh.
Next, North Broward will return home to play Kings Academy on Friday, September 23 at 6 p.m., while Monarch heads to Marjory Stoneman Douglas to take on the Eagles on September 22 at 7 p.m.
