A child was airlifted to the hospital after suffering multiple dog bites inside a Margate home Wednesday, officials said.
The incident happened in the 5000 block of South Lakewood Circle shortly before noon, when the child was bitten by one or possibly two Pit bulls.
According to a Margate city spokesperson, the juvenile victim suffered severe injuries but is in stable condition and their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Broward Sheriff’s Office air rescue flew the child to Broward Health Medical Center.
Several dogs were inside the residence at the time of the incident, but only two canines – both Pit bulls – were involved in the attack, authorities said. The two dogs were surrendered to animal control.
Authorities have not released the injured child’s age or gender.
