Mayor Arlene Schwartz, Vice Mayor Antonio Arserio, and Commissioner Anthony Caggiano.
Three Margate officials have been appointed to serve on Florida League of Cities committees for the 2025–2026 term.
Mayor Arlene Schwartz will serve on the Municipal Operations Committee, Vice Mayor Antonio Arserio will serve on the Development, Code Compliance, and Redevelopment Committee, and Commissioner Anthony Caggiano will serve on the Utilities, Natural Resources, and Public Works Committee.
Each year, municipal officials across Florida volunteer to serve on one of the League’s five legislative policy committees, which set the organization’s legislative platform representing the state’s 411 municipalities.
As committee members, the Margate officials will help shape the League’s legislative priorities on issues affecting municipal governance and assist League staff in evaluating the impact of proposed legislation. They will also act as advocates for local decision-making during the legislative process.
In addition to their committee appointments, three Margate officials were recognized for their dedication to training and continuing education through the Florida League of Cities’ Certificate Program for Elected Municipal Officials.
Schwartz earned the Bronze Certificate of Merit, while Arserio and Commissioner Joanne Simone received the Gold Certificate of Excellence.
