The Margate Police Department responded to various incidents and made multiple arrests between August 17 and 22, 2025.
Sexual Battery
NW 18th St. — A victim reported being sexually battered by a known subject. CID responded.
SW 9th St. — A female reported that she was sexually battered on August 17 while sleeping at a residence. CID responded.
Animal Bite
5540 S. Lakewood Cir. — A juvenile was bitten by two pit bulls owned by his uncle, sustaining multiple puncture wounds. He was airlifted to the hospital with the landing zone at the Sportsplex. Animal Control seized the dogs; CST photographed the scene.
Burglary
4900 NW 15th St. — A delayed report from August 16 revealed a vehicle burglary. A firearm, a black Taurus 9mm, was stolen from the trunk of a Toyota Camry.
Grand Theft Auto
3370 Pinewalk Dr. N. — Overnight, a victim reported his 2022 Honda CRV stolen.
NW 80th Ave. — Subject identified as Evertte Greene (DOB 03/22/1992) fled from law enforcement in a vehicle stolen from Atlanta with a stolen tag. Greene abandoned the vehicle, fled on foot, and was later found with a firearm. He is currently on probation for burglary and had an outstanding warrant for dealing in stolen property.
5700 Royal Palm Blvd. — A gray 2018 Infiniti Q50 was reported stolen. It was last seen on the property on August 22 around 8 p.m.
Theft
6000 NW 7th St. — Overnight, windshield wipers valued at $150 were stolen from a 2003 Infiniti.
Marshalls, 5461 W. Atlantic Blvd. — A male wearing a white long-sleeve shirt, gray shorts, gray shoes, and a head cloth left the store with a shirt, shoes, and a backpack without paying. Total loss: $112.97.
Criminal Mischief & DUI
205 S. SR 7 (Masters Billiards) — Sylvester Chotilal (DOB 09/04/1987) intentionally drove his vehicle into the building, causing damage. His BAC measured .152%. He was charged with DUI and criminal mischief.
Arrests
Narcotics Arrest — 6487 NW 22nd St.
Damian Lopez (DOB 04/30/2000) was arrested during a search warrant execution. Police found 14.75 pounds of cannabis, 34 grams of oxycodone, cocaine, meth, psilocybin mushrooms, $6,829 in cash, and two loaded firearms. Charges: armed trafficking oxycodone, sale of cannabis, possession of cocaine, meth, psilocybin, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and felony VOP. TOT BSO.
Domestic Battery Arrest — 6969 W. Atlantic Blvd.
Jasmine Goodwin (DOB 07/12/2003) struck the victim and pulled his hair during an altercation.
Narcotics Arrest — Lakewood/Atlantic Blvd.
Andrew DeLorenzo (DOB 12/11/1976) was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
Domestic Battery Arrest — NW 27th St.
Amber Petraites (DOB 08/06/1984) was identified as the primary aggressor during a physical altercation.
Fleeing/Eluding & Warrant — 300 NW 79th Ter.
Keenan Renois (DOB 03/14/1998) fled from an attempted traffic stop. He was apprehended with BSO aviation assistance and charged with fleeing/eluding. He also had an outstanding felony battery warrant.
Warrant Arrest — Winfield/SR 7.
Brian Dugazon was stopped for an unassigned tag and admitted to having a warrant, which was confirmed. TOT BSO.
Juvenile Arrest — 7365 NW 18th St.
A juvenile fled police on a dirt bike and later on foot before being caught. Charges: fleeing/eluding, resisting without violence, driving without a motorcycle license, failing to register a motor vehicle. Issued a citation for disobeying a traffic control device. TOT JAC.
Bicycle Violation/Warrant — 590 S. SR 7.
Peter P. Salford (DOB 12/13/1995) was stopped for a bicycle violation and found to have an active felony VOP warrant for grand theft auto. TOT BSO.
Domestic Violence Battery — Toscana Ln. E.
Christopher Lacombe (DOB 02/26/1988) allegedly pushed the victim into a wall during an argument, causing a mouth injury. He refused to speak to police and locked himself inside the apartment. A not-in-custody (NIC) arrest was completed.
Domestic Violence Battery NIC — Lakewood Circle S.
Lisa Desmore (DOB 02/15/1972) threw a glass bottle at the victim, causing abrasions. Victim declined to give a statement. NIC completed.
Trespass Arrest — Walmart, 5555 W. Atlantic Blvd.
Desiree Vinocur (DOB 06/20/1964) was arrested for trespassing after warning.
