Jaylen Lindo {BSO}
A teen was arrested Tuesday after police say he brought a loaded gun and a knife onto the SunEd High School campus.
According to a Margate Police Department arrest affidavit, Jaylen Lindo, 18, of North Lauderdale, entered the school campus on October 21 carrying a concealed .38-caliber Pietta Field revolver loaded with five rounds.
A school guardian reportedly noticed the weapon, secured it, and contacted law enforcement. During a search, officers also found a knife with a blade longer than four inches hidden under his clothing.
Officers immediately arrested Lindo and charged him with possession of a firearm on school property, carrying a concealed firearm, and interfering with school administration functions.
He was booked into the Broward County Jail on Tuesday evening.
At his first court appearance on Wednesday, the judge ordered that Lindo be released on $13,000 bond but required him to wear a GPS ankle monitor before trial and to stay away from any weapons and the school campus.
