Margate will soon have a full-time victim advocate position.
During the October 8 meeting, the commission passed a resolution to approve an agreement and accept $51,530 in grant funding from the Office of the Attorney General, Bureau of Advocacy and Grants Management, Victims of Crime Act (VOCA). The money will be used to fund the full-time victim advocacy position for the Margate Police Department.
The commission passed a resolution to authorize the city administration to negotiate an agreement with the top-ranked firm, MBR Construction, Inc., to complete a design and build for the redevelopment of Centennial Park.
