The Margate Police Department responded to various incidents and made multiple arrests between October 14 and 20, 2025.
Burglary and Theft
Burglary Conveyance: A 2015 Kia Soul parked at 5459 SW 11th St. was found with its driver-side window smashed on Oct. 13. The steering column was tampered with, but nothing was reported missing.
Theft: At 6095 NW 8th St., an Amazon package was stolen on Oct. 16 by an unknown woman seen on video. A man later returned the opened package. The victim still wished to pursue charges.
Retail Theft: Justin King, 32, was arrested after allegedly stealing body wash from Dollar General at 700 S. State Road 7. Police said King resisted officers before being taken into custody.
Theft: A victim at Publix, 7230 W. Atlantic Blvd., reported their iPhone 14 Pro Max was stolen from their shopping cart.
Stolen Vehicles:
A 2026 silver Honda CR-V was stolen from NW 4th Place around 12:45 a.m. after the victim heard the car alarm.
A 2017 white Honda CR-V was reported stolen overnight from W. Laurel Drive.
Vandalism and Mischief
Criminal Mischief: Graffiti was discovered at Country Haven, 1100 N. State Road 7, on Oct. 16. A cut lock and spray paint caps were recovered as evidence.
Assaults and Batteries
Aggravated Assault/Domestic Battery: Police arrested Noah Olive, 27, of W. Laurel Drive, after he allegedly pulled a woman by her hair during an argument and pointed a firearm at her.
Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon: Mauricio Alexander Rivas Velasco, 23, was charged in connection with an assault at 628 S. State Road 7.
Battery/Attempted Sexual Battery: A woman exercising along N. State Road 7 was followed and grabbed by a man on a bicycle around 7 a.m. She escaped and contacted police from a nearby Starbucks.
Battery on Healthcare Worker: Donna Thomas, 45, was arrested at HCA Northwest Hospital after allegedly punching a nurse, striking her chest, and spitting on a security guard. She also refused to leave the premises.
DUI Arrests
Amanda Reyes, 39, was arrested for DUI at 6955 NW 17th Ct.
Clifford Pressa, 36, was arrested for DUI at 7336 W. Atlantic Blvd.
Warrant and Other Arrests
Warrant Arrests:
Lucciano Bucca, 20, at 5000 W. Atlantic Blvd., for an active Broward County warrant for battery touch or strike.
Anthony Clair, 42, surrendered himself at HCA Northwest Hospital on two active felony warrants.
Marlon Francis was arrested near Atlantic Blvd. and Rock Island Road for a warrant and driving with a suspended license.
Ricardo Curry was arrested on Southgate Blvd. for an active warrant.
Elias Melo was arrested following a traffic stop at 4600 Coconut Creek Parkway for a stolen tag and outstanding warrant.
Halo Law Violation: Vu Nguyen, 29, was arrested after repeatedly approaching active crime scenes and refusing commands to stay back, violating Florida Statute 843.31.
False ID/Resisting Arrest: Passha Davis, 34, was arrested at 261 S. State Road 7 for providing false identification and resisting without violence.
Burglary Structure: Andrew Stack, 39, was arrested after entering Paradise Gardens Clubhouse without permission and rummaging through cabinets.
