Margate Advanced Life Support Team. {City of Margate}
The Margate Fire Department Advanced Life Support (ALS) team earned first place overall for the non-critical patient scenario at the recent World Rescue completion in Croatia.
They competed against 35 teams from around the world. The ALS team earned third place overall in the complex trauma scenario and fifth place in trauma worldwide.
The competition featured three challenging scenarios: a single patient trauma case, a complex trauma drill with two patients, and a large-scale mass casualty incident that paired Margate’s team with firefighters from France, according to a memo from the city manager’s office.
In each event, the ALS team demonstrated exceptional training, teamwork, and dedication. They were the only team in their standard trauma round to complete patient treatment and transport within the 15-minute limit.
The experience not only showcased Margate’s talent on a global platform but also enhanced the team’s knowledge and preparedness for emergencies at home. The city administration is proud of the ALS team for their achievements and looks forward to their continued success in competitions, according to the memo.
