A Margate man was arrested after allegedly threatening to kill an employee and assaulting a customer inside a Hungry Howie’s restaurant.
According to a Margate Police Department report, on October 5, Robert Michael Nieto, 47, walked into the Hungry Howie’s located at 7384 Royal Palm Boulevard shortly after midnight, demanding free pizza from the store manager. When the manager said no, Nieto allegedly became irate.
According to the report, Nieto said, “I will kill you, rip your face off, and I will follow you to your house,” before aggressively walking behind the counter. The restaurant manager told officers he stopped Nieto before any physical assault occurred.
As the situation escalated, records show witnesses told officers that Nieto allegedly turned his attention toward a customer who was sitting nearby. Telling the man, “I don’t like the way you’re sitting, you look like a seal,” before grabbing the customer’s legs and shoving them toward the floor.
After leaving the restaurant, the police located Nieto at his nearby residence. Both victims positively identified him during a show-up lineup conducted by Margate officers.
Nieto was charged with simple assault and battery and transported to the Broward County Main Jail.
