Through our joint effort with the Margate Police Department to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Margate’s crime and arrests through March 28, 2022.
Burglary Conveyance
N. State Rd. 7
On 03/28/22, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle/trailer, a white 2016 Ford F450 aerial truck. The victim’s splicer and other property were removed from the trailer. Tot. Est. Loss: $11,000.
Burglary Vehicle
SW 56th Terr.
On 03/24/2022, an unknown person entered the victim’s vehicle via an unlocked door. At this time, only the registration and insurance card are missing.
NW 60th Ave.
On 3/28/2022, a victim reported a Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun stolen from his unlocked Honda Accord.
Criminal Mischief
2500 Rock Island Rd.
On 3/24/2022, police reported that an unknown suspect(s) cracked tiles under a statue at Firefighters Park.
Fraud
490 N. State Rd. 7
On 03/26/2022, Jurgen Ladstetter, 51, was arrested on charges of fraud, resisting arrest, and an outstanding warrant for robbery. After committing fraud at a TD Bank, he fled on foot upon police arrival. The suspect was detained on W. Palm Drive.
Shooting
Lakeside Dr.
On March 27, a shooting occurred in the 5700 block of Lakeside Drive. The female victim was dropped off at HCA Florida Northwest Hospital and was being prepped for transport to Broward Health North when Margate PD was called. Two men who dropped her off fled in a black BMW. CIU was contacted and took over the scenes at an apartment on Lakeside Drive, where the shooting happened, and at the hospital.
Stolen Vehicle
SW 2nd St.
On 03/28/2022, a victim reported that their burgundy/grey 2020 Yamaha Raptor was stolen from their residence. No-tag – No VIN on file.
Arrests
Walters, Michael David, 47, was arrested on charges of violating injunction protection domestic violence on Courtyard Dr on 03/22/2022.
Dacyenski, George J., 65, was arrested on charges of resisting an officer on N. State Rd. 7 on 03/23/2022.
Berry, David Alexander, 20, was arrested on charges of resisting an officer on N. State Rd. 7 on 03/23/2022.
Frank Rodriguez, 71, was arrested on charges of trespassing on N. State Rd. 7 on 03/25/2022.
Williams, Tremaine Antonio, 29, was arrested on charges of kidnap-false imprisonment on SW 11th St on 03/25/2022.
Jurgen Ladstetter, 51, was arrested on charges of fraud, resisting arrest, and an outstanding warrant for robbery on W. Palm Dr. 03/26/2022.
