A woman was shot and dropped off at a Margate hospital Sunday by two men in a black BMW, who immediately fled the area, police records show.
The shooting, which Margate Police later determined happened in the 5700 block of Lakeside Drive, left the woman wounded by gunfire before the men dropped her off at HCA Florida Northwest Hospital on March 27, the records show.
The victim was being prepped for transport to Broward Health North when Margate Police responded to HCA to investigate.
The wounded woman was not initially cooperative, according to police, but investigators were soon able to determine the address where the shooting happened.
The date and time for the incident were not included in the records describing crimes in Margate between March 22 and March 28.
The Margate Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit was contacted after the shooting and took over the investigation of the scenes at both the apartment where the shooting happened and the hospital, records show.
No arrests had been announced as of Wednesday.
