It took until the fourth match of the season, but the Monarch High School girl’s volleyball team picked up their first win on Sept. 1.
The Knights defeated Nova High School 25-13, 20-25, 25-8, 25-19 to give the Titans their fourth straight loss to begin the season.
While Monarch dropped both of their opening matches, they did take a set over both Cooper City and Fort Lauderdale High School before their most complete match against Nova.
Monarch’s teams consist of Keely Thompson, Adriana Zullo, Joyce Dusek, Drew Weinstein, Veronica Perez Mena, Beyonie Plummer, Tatianna Johnson, Dorian Norton, and Julianna Oliviera.
Next, the Knights play Coral Springs Charter on Wednesday, September 7, at 6 p.m. The Panthers are currently 3-2 this year, with wins over Pembroke Pines Charter, Don Soffer Aventura, and Pompano Beach High School.
