Monarch High School softball’s season ended on Tuesday following a loss in the Regional Semifinals against the nation’s fourth-best team.
The Knights were no-hit against Doral Academy in a 10-0 loss, as the Firebirds are also the number one-ranked team in the state. Mia Macaione tossed a scoreless first inning and allowed only one run in the second and third, but Doral Academy broke it open following a five-run fourth. They added three more in the fifth with Elena Ramirez coming to pitch in relief as the Knights finished the season 12-11. They were led by Sara Connor, who finished the season with three home runs.
She also drove in a team-high 25 runs while Mylei Carlson, Macaione, Jayden Uzzo, Emmy Phipps, Sammie Rice, Angelina Pena, and Gabriela Pearson all had home runs. Camryn Piskun and Faith Linderlam each finished in double figures in runs batted in, while Ramirez, Luz Moreira, Gillian Gurreonero, Rayanna Council, Melanie Summa, Angelina Pena, Cheyanne Insua, and Savannah Curtis all drove in at least two runs.
The Knights will head into the 2026 season with Linderman, Guzman, Macaione, Pearson, Rice, Phipps, Ramirez, Connor, and Piskun graduating this year.
