A police K-9 allegedly uncovered a lunchbox filled with fentanyl, cocaine, ketamine, and hundreds of pills during a Margate traffic stop.

According to a Margate Police Department arrest report, Nicholas Anthony Lieske, 31, of Boca Raton was arrested September 10 following a traffic stop near the intersection of North State Road 7 and Royal Palm Boulevard.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Lieske made two consecutive lane changes without signaling, forcing several vehicles to brake to avoid a possible collision.

A marked patrol unit stopped the truck near 650 North State Road 7. Police said a detective saw Lieske reaching toward the rear passenger area after the patrol car activated its emergency lights.

A Broward Sheriff’s Office K-9 deputy responded and conducted an exterior sniff of the truck. The dog allegedly alerted officers to the presence of narcotics.

While detained, Lieske asked to use a phone and allegedly told an officer, “I’m not getting out of here bro, there’s drugs in the car,” according to the affidavit.

Police searched the truck and allegedly found a black lunchbox behind the passenger seat containing more than 100 empty plastic bags, two scales and a metal spoon covered in pink powder.

Investigators also reported finding approximately 9.88 grams of suspected fentanyl and two grams of a substance that field-tested positive for MDMA or methamphetamine.

Police said the lunchbox contained 275 orange pills identified as 30-milligram amphetamine tablets, commonly sold under the brand name Adderall. The pills had a combined weight of approximately 118.76 grams.

Officers also allegedly recovered 110.76 grams of ketamine and several containers of suspected cocaine.

The suspected cocaine weighed approximately 270.51 grams in total, or slightly more than a quarter kilogram, according to the arrest affidavit.

Lieske was arrested and transported to the Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail.
