The Calypso Cove pools opened for the summer on June 7. Individuals and families can now enjoy the pools and slides seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Mayor Arlene Schwartz is pleased that the pool complex is now open to the public and said residents can enjoy swimming and various fun activities there. There is a water playground with new slides and a tipping bucket that dumps water on children while they swim.
Free swim lessons are available for children eight years old and younger at Calypso Cove, according to Schwartz.

On June 6, Margate hosted the Sun and Safety event to educate families and individuals on water safety. Members of the Margate Fire Department provided training in CPR, while individuals from Safe Kids Broward County offered families information on water safety.
“We want everyone to know how to swim and to know how to be safe in and around water,” said Rachel Solomon of Safe Kids.
Calypso Cove is located at 6200 Royal Palm Boulevard.
