Bowen is a fun-loving four-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier who can play fetch for hours.
According to Broward County Animal Care, he is about four years old and weighs 70 pounds. He came to the shelter in February as a stray. Bowen is a big boy but moves with the grace of an Afghan Hound, especially when tennis balls are involved.
He knows his cues and takes treats very gently. After a long day of play, he’s ready to take a nap right by his human’s side. This playful buddy would be a perfect companion for someone with a lot of energy and a large backyard to play in.
Like many other large dogs at the Broward Animal Care and Adoption Center, Bowen needs a kennel break. The shelter is running over capacity and needs the public to come out and adopt or foster pets.
To adopt Bowen (A2180432), foster, or take a dog out for lunch, email the shelter at foster@broward.org. To schedule a meet-and-greet appointment and learn more about adoptable pets, email ACADadoptions@broward.org.
The Adoption Center at Broward County Animal Care is located at 2400 SW 42 Street, Fort Lauderdale, and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Adoptions are at no cost and include spaying/neutering, vaccinations, a microchip, and a Broward County pet license tag.
