The City of Margate again names its ‘Athlete of the Month.”
Adriana Hernandez, 12, was honored at the Margate Commission meeting on November 20.
Hernandez, a sixth grader at Margate Middle School, was recognized for her accomplishments on the school’s cross-country team. Mayor Tommy Ruzzano presented her with a plaque and complimented her accomplishments.
Middle school cross-country runners complete a two-mile course and participate in demanding training sessions. “I enjoy running and working to achieve a goal. I want to run track this spring,” Adriana said.
According to her father, Roberto Hernandez, Adriana has worked hard to succeed in running and was selected by her coach to be honored by the city.
Her mother, Perla Navarrete, is proud of Adriana and attended the ceremony.
