A woman with an active warrant for possessing methamphetamine was arrested carrying a host of drugs during a traffic stop in Margate last week, court records show.
Taliyah Tyson, 21, of Winfield Boulevard in Margate, was the passenger in a car stopped by Margate Police officers for a stop sign violation in the 6500 block of Winfield Boulevard on April 8, according to an arrest affidavit.
The driver, who the police did not identify, was arrested on open warrants. He is described in court papers as Tyson’s co-defendant in the case.
When they checked Tyson’s history, officers found her open drug arrest warrant for the methamphetamine case, records show.
After police told Tyson she would be searched, she admitted she was hiding drugs in her vagina, according to the affidavit.
The plastic baggy Tyson concealed included 47 pills, including oxycodone and hydromorphone, and powder cocaine and crack cocaine, records show.
Tyson told police the drugs belonged to her co-defendant and that he had handed them to her as the car was being pulled over, according to police.
Tyson is charged with seven counts of possession of the various drugs. She was being held without bond in the methamphetamine case Wednesday at the North Broward Bureau jail.
