The North Broward Prep boys track and field team saved their most dominating performance for the District Championship on April 23.
The boys recorded 190 points, 65 more than Kings Academy, while the girl’s team finished fourth fifth with 83 points.
Boys Varsity Team
Deandre Desinor led the way for the Eagles, advancing in the 100 meters, 200 meters, long jump, and 4 x 100 relay with Michael Bagot, Connor Clyatt, and Apolo Rodriguez. NBP finished that race first with 46.63 and had their two other relay teams advance to Regionals consisting of Bagot, Adren Roberts, Armando Suarez, and Maximus Fuentes,
Lucca Casacci, Jordan Greenbaum, Jacob Brezin, and Suarez. Rodriguez also took first in the 110 and 300 hurdles, while Sam Shapshal finished fourth.
On the field, Clyatt won the long and triple jump. Desinor, Marcus Dixon, Fuentes, Zach Vidal, Mori Schacter, and Michael McGrath finished in the top four in their respective events.
Girls Varsity Team
Their lone first-place finish was from Morgan King in the high jump. Nina Sanguino advanced in the long and triple jumps, while Alasyha Bruno came fourth in the discus. The lone relay team to move to Regionals was the 4 x 100 with Alana Amsterdam, Victoria Hernandez, Leah Forudi, and Ivory Edgecomb.
Next, NBP will compete in Regionals on May 5 at Calvary Christian.
Boys Middle School
On Friday, the boys also competed in Districts and came in fourth. Ryder Rush picked up wins in the 100 and 200 hurdles. He also finished third in the long and triple jump. Thomas Isbister and Charlie Isbister came in the top four in four events, including the 4 x 800 relay with Lucas Wiley and Eric Levy. Wiley and Levy also placed second and third in the 3200 meters.Â
Girls Middle School
The girls came in fifth and were led by Bella Fernandez. She won the long and triple jump while coming in second in the 100 hurdles. Victoria Depenbrock finished second in the triple jump, with Kate Lynch finishing third in three different events. Aryanah Ahmad and Lucia Casacci also had top-four finishes.
