Many hardworking families struggle to pay their basic expenses, which often leads to food insecurity.

The Margate Fire Department is spearheading an initiative to ensure that every member of the community has access to sufficient food.

Until July 11, all Margate fire stations will have drop boxes in place to collect food and initiate “United Against Hunger.” Every resident is invited to place food in boxes located at Station 18, 5785 Park Drive; Station 98, 5395 Northwest 24th Street; and Station 58, 600 North Rock Island Road.

The collected food will be distributed to local schools, churches, community organizations, and directly to people in need. A goal is to show that in Margate, no one fights hunger alone, according to information from the Fire Department.
