Brook and Molly at the Humane Society of Broward County.
Two deserving pets at the Humane Society of Broward County are ready to trade shelter life for soft beds, belly rubs, and a loving family to call their own.
Molly, just over a year old, was rescued by a good Samaritan right before she gave birth to kittens. Now that all her babies have found loving homes, it’s Molly’s turn to shine. Though she may seem shy at first, this gentle beauty warms up quickly and loves being picked up and petted. She’s good with other pets and would thrive in a calm, loving environment.
Molly is also one of the lucky pets selected as part of a partnership between Chewy and the Florida Panthers. For every goal scored at home during the Stanley Cup Finals, Chewy is covering the adoption fee of a featured pet and providing free supplies, and Molly made the roster.
Then there’s Brook, a two-year-old brindle-and-white pup with a smile that melts hearts. Transferred from another shelter, Brook’s past is unknown, but she’s clearly eager to embrace a bright future. Calm and affectionate, Brook walks well on a leash, doesn’t react to other dogs, and charmed the kids during the shelter’s summer camp program. Volunteers describe her as having a warm and gentle energy.
Brook is heartworm positive — a condition that is not contagious and is treatable. Thanks to the generosity of Enabled Remodeler, her adoption fee has already been covered, and the shelter will provide her treatment.
If you’re looking to add a new member to your family, now’s the perfect time to meet Molly or Brook. Visit www.humanebroward.com to complete a pre-adoption application. Then stop by the Humane Society of Broward County at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312. Adoption kennels open daily at 11 a.m., and you can call 954-989-3977 with any questions.
