Margate Crime Update: Fentanyl Trafficking and $500K Fraud

Through our joint effort with the Margate Police Department to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Margate’s crime and arrests through Nov. 19, 2022.

Auto Theft

A 33-year-old male was the victim of Auto Theft on Nw 4 Pl on 11/14/2022. 

Burglary Conveyance

A 54-year-old female was the victim of Burglary Conveyance on Kathy Ct on 11/15/2022. Tot. Est. Loss: $50.

Burglary Residence

A 48-year-old male was the victim of a Burglary Residence on E River Dr on 11/14/2022. Tot. Est. Loss: $549.

Fraud

A 75-year-old female was the victim of Fraud – All Other on Sw 7th St on 11/15/2022. Tot. Est. Loss: $500,000. 

A 52-year-old male was the victim of Fraud – All Other on State Rd 7 on 11/14/2022. Tot. Est. Loss: $488,000. 

Identity theft

A 40-year-old female was the victim of Fraud Identity Theft on Seminole Ter on 11/14/2022.

Stalking

A 34-year-old male was the victim of stalking on Marion Ave on 11/18/2022.

Arrests

Newton, Jamesha Shanice, 28, was arrested on charges of Damage Prop-crim Misch-200 Dols And Under on 79th Ter on 11/20/2022. 

Genet, Sergio, 37, was arrested on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic Viol on Parade Place on 11/19/2022. 

Fitzgerald, Scott T., 56, was arrested on Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic Viol charges on Banks Rd on 11/18/2022. 

Rivera, Cynthia Marie, 38, was arrested on charges of Veh Theft-grand Theft Of Motor Vehicle on SW 5th Pl on 11/18/2022.

Jean-Pierre, Jeff, 34, was arrested on charges of Larc-petit Theft 2nd Degree 2nd Offense on W Atlantic Blvd on 11/17/2022. 

Joanem, Loobens Voshawn, 26, was arrested on charges of Trafficking In Fentanyl on NW 77th Ave on 11/16/2022. 

Jones, Dwain Lakeith, 54, was arrested on charges of Viol Injunction Protection Domestic Violence on E River Dr on 11/15/2022. 

Marcellin, Jeff, 19, was arrested on charges of Liquor-sell Give Serve Person Under 21 Yoa 1st Viol on W Atlantic Blvd on 11/15/2022.

Hoppus, Erin Lynn, 30, was arrested on charges of Possession Of Weapon-or Ammo By a Convicted Fla Felon on N Sr 7 on 11/14/2022.
