Margate-Coconut Creek Fire Rescue {Aiden Palmer}
Margate’s children and families can get a hands-on look at city vehicles and meet the professionals who operate them.
The city will host the Touch-A-Truck event on Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Margate Sports Complex, 1695 Banks Road.
Guests will be able to explore police vehicles, fire rescue trucks, and public works vehicles by viewing, touching, and photographing them. Children can sit in the cab of a fire truck, talk with first responders, and learn about their equipment.
The event is organized as a hands-on exploration of vehicles, offering participants opportunities to touch, sit in, and interact with various types of vehicles. The goal is to foster community engagement.
According to the city, the event honors April’s Autism Awareness Month and World Autism Awareness Day, which is April 2.
