North Broward Prep baseball has three players set to have a unique experience playing in the 2023 Perfect Game National Showcase at Chase Field in Arizona from July 11-15.
Gian De Castro has played three years on the varsity baseball team at NBP and has been to three State Championship Finals, winning two. He is a lifetime .306 hitter with five home runs, 46 RBIs, and 63 runs scored. De Castro is currently uncommitted and still has one year left with the Eagles before potentially getting drafted or going to college.
Mateo Gray was also selected and had a terrific first year with NBP. He was named Player of the Year and shined both on the mound and at the plate. Gray, committed to the University of Central Florida, scored 6-0 on the mound with an ERA of 1.39. He struck out 86 batters in 65.2 innings while also hitting .344 with two home runs and 26 RBIs.
Riley Luft was the final Eagle selected and, like Gray, has done it all on the field. The Appalachian State commit sent 4-0 on the mound this last season with seven saves. He also had an ERA of 1.43 while hitting seven home runs and driving in 57 runs.
