The Monarch High School football team had a pair of players selected to the All-State Team, coming off its third straight District Title, while another major commitment was made.
Samari Reed was selected to First Team All-State after his incredible season, which featured 12 rushing touchdowns and four receiving scores. He also had 1.126 combined rushing and receiving yards and will play college football at Ole Miss University.
Bryan Auguste was named to the second team in all states and was signed with the University of Kentucky. He shined on the offensive line, protecting quarterbacks AJ Hairston, Jack Spaeder, and Florentino Lopez. During his high school career, Auguste also had 145 pancake blocks, while the Knights threw for 4,442 passing yards and rushed for an additional 2,253 yards.
Chandler Ripps is also officially committed to attending Adelphi University.
“When I was asked to join the Adelphi Panthers coming off of their 2024 National Championship, it was surreal,” Ripps said. “ I felt excited and also in a dream. The coaching staff was amazing, and the team culture was very welcoming.”
Ripps began playing lacrosse for the Snopers when he was eight. He then went on to the Stealth Club team, Club Fury, and several showcases and prospect days. Ripps has played on the varsity team since eighth grade and has scored 11 goals in four games this year after scoring 32 last season.
For college, Ripps wanted to find a strong ace cos program and move to a spot with four seasons. He is also eager to live close to the City and see several professional sports teams in New York. He hopes to continue improving his agility and strength before competing for a team that won the Division II National Championship a season ago and currently ranks number one in the country.
