The 2nd Annual Meatball Mania Italian Festival offers a fun event with food, music, and fellowship.
The event, hosted by Doc Reno of Big 1059 and I HeartRadio, will take place at the Margate Sports Complex, 1695 Banks Road, on Saturday, March 8, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The festival website states that it includes a contest for the “Best Meatball” in South Florida. The money raised will benefit the My Family Matters Foundation.
The festival aligns with National Meatball Day. According to the festival website, families can enjoy a pleasant evening as local restaurants and food trucks compete to determine who produces the best meatballs in the area. There will also be plenty of food, games, live music, a local vendor marketplace, and a fun social atmosphere.
The My Family Matters Foundation helps families with children fighting cancer and needing financial help. According to the foundation website, it offers assistance for expenses not covered by insurance, including travel to medical facilities, rent or mortgage relief, and groceries.
“This is a great event, and it raises money for a good cause, helping children with cancer. I know what they are going through because I am a two-year cancer survivor,” said Commissioner Anthony Caggiano.
