Margate National Night Out. {City of Margate}
Margate is preparing to host one of the largest National Night Out Against Crime events in Florida on Tuesday, August 5, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sports Complex, located at 1695 Banks Road.
This year’s National Night Out will feature demonstrations by Fire Rescue, the Broward Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit, K-9, and the Special Response Team. People will see marine vessels, a helicopter, and armored vehicles on display.Â
Law enforcement and federal agencies from outside Margate will participate. “We will have multiple military, federal, and local law enforcement agencies on site,” said Lisa Huriash, public information officer.
A key objective of Night Out is to foster positive relationships between residents and law enforcement officers in a family-friendly setting. There will be carnival-style games, bounce houses, and a live band.  There will also be 3,000 hot dogs and 3,000 sodas, as well as bottled water, according to Huriash.
The commission is very proud of Margate’s Night Out. “We have one of the best Night Outs in the nation with a variety of police agencies, and we expect a large event,” said Mayor Arlene Schwartz.
“Our Night Out is spectacular, and it will be even bigger and better this year,” said Commissioner Anthony Caggiano.
