North Broward Prep was in action to start the week with both the golf and girls volleyball teams.
The boys golf team placed fifth in the District Tournament but is sending a pair to Regionals with Cruz Allegiances-Pierce and Cooper Roth. Allegiances-Pierce recorded a 75, while Roth shot a 76. Stella Edwards was the lone golfer from the girls team to advance.
The girls volleyball team completed their best season in over a decade but had it come to an end on Tuesday night.
After beating Calvary Christian Academy in the District Final on October 19 in five sets, these two teams met again on Tuesday, with CCA winning in five.
NBP came out on fire, recording the first 13 of 16 points in the match before CCA cut the lead to 18-14. They went on to cut the lead to one, but NBP won the final point of the set to win 25-23.
CCA, though, went on to take sets two and three, 25-21 and 25-15, respectively, before NBP sent the match the distance, recording a 25-19 fourth set win. However, with the match tied at 13 in the final set, CCA won the final two points with blocks to win.
NBP finished the season with a record of 15-5, their best record since 2011. While the Eagles will have three seniors in Baylor Worley, Constanta Lira, and Emily Goldburg graduating this year, they will still return a talented squad for the 2024 season with the addition of some junior varsity players.
