Margate to Celebrate Spring Sports Opening Day with a Party

Margate has a tradition of top-notch recreational athletics, which aims to help children learn to play competitive sports and have fun.

The city will hold an opening day ceremony for spring sports to give the youth athletes the feeling of big-league recognition.

The event takes on March 1st at the Margate Sports Complex at 1695 Banks Road starting at 9:00 a.m. The festivities will include team introductions, a DJ, bounce houses, and food available for purchase.

According to J.R. VanWassenhove, spokesperson for Margate, all the athletes will receive a complimentary hot dog, drink, and chips. Additionally, there will be a photo booth.

“I want these kids to have positive experiences, and I support youth sports in Margate,” said Commissioner Anthony Caggiano.

Margate offers recreational athletics, such as baseball, softball, soccer, and basketball. Volunteer coaches teach children basic skills in these sports.
