The City of Margate is participating in the “Paint It Broward” program, which offers residents a chance to spruce up their homes with free exterior paint. When available, recycled paint is distributed at no cost to Margate homeowners for personal, residential use.
The recycled paint is available in four exterior colors—Terracotta, Light Gray, Off-White, and Beige—and is provided in 5-gallon containers. Each household is limited to four containers per calendar year.
Paint distribution is on a reservation-only basis on Thursday, February 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Oriole Field parking lot, 7055 NW 1st Street.
Residents must reserve their paint in advance, no later than the day before the scheduled distribution. Proof of Margate residency is required upon pickup. Fill out the paint request form here.
Only vehicle traffic is permitted to ensure safety and efficiency; walk—ups and cyclists will not be served. City staff will load the paint directly into the vehicle’s trunk or truck bed, which must be clear or have sufficient space. Staff will not handle or rearrange items in the vehicle or place paint inside the cabin.
The paint is intended solely for exterior use on single-family homes and is not for commercial or multifamily properties. The supply is limited and subject to availability.
