The Margate Police Department will conduct a training exercise on Monday, March 16, at Margate Elementary School, located at 6300 NW 18 St.
The training will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and residents in the area may notice an increased police presence along with alarms, sirens, and other loud noises associated with the exercise.
Officials emphasized that the activity is only a training drill and that school will not be in session. The exercise is scheduled during Broward County Public Schools’ Spring Break to ensure the campus is empty.
Residents are advised that the activity is planned and there is no cause for concern.
