Shneider Youte {BSO}
A Margate teen was arrested and charged with battery and child abuse after police responded to a pair of frantic 911 calls that ended with a teen female pleading for help before the line disconnected.
According to an arrest affidavit filed by the Margate Police Department, officers arrived at an apartment complex on July 15 in response to a disturbance. The underage victim was heard saying, “Let me go” on the first emergency call, before the call ended.
A second call was placed moments later, during which the victim could be heard saying, “Get off me,” before that call also disconnected.
When officers arrived on the scene, they saw the female victim leaving the stairwell of the apartment building and walking away from police. Moments later, the alleged assailant, identified as Shneider Youte, 19, of Margate, was spotted coming down the same stairwell.
Officers immediately questioned Youte, who admitted that he and the victim had been in a relationship for the past five months and that there had been a history of violence between them.
Youte admitted to law enforcement that he pushed the victim twice, causing her to fall between two beds, as well as striking the victim with an open palm, pushing her by the neck, and hanging up the phone during her call to 911.
Officers observed multiple injuries on the victim, including a red mark on her neck, a busted inner lip, a cut on her chin, bruising under her armpit and back, and blood on her white jacket.
The victim, who is a minor, told officers she had arranged to meet Youte to discuss their relationship, but he became erratic and violent when she threatened to call 911. She claimed he began striking her “all over” in an attempt to stop her from making the call.
Following the investigation, Youte was placed under arrest and transported to the Broward County Main Jail. He was later released after posting $2,500 bond.
Due to the victim being a minor, Youte faces child abuse charges in addition to battery and tampering with a law enforcement investigation charges.
