A second arrest has been made in a violent Margate towing company attack, with police accusing another employee of pulling a gun on a customer during the same incident that left the victim injured.
According to a Margate Police Department arrest report, Hunter Quesnel, 27, of Margate, was taken into custody on April 9 and is facing multiple felony charges tied to the March 19 confrontation at Emergency Towing, including aggravated battery causing bodily harm and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The new arrest stems from the same incident Margate Talk reported on earlier this week. The initial investigation led to the arrest of coworker Remington Read, who investigators say repeatedly beat the customer, knocking out a tooth and later attempting to damage evidence and disable surveillance cameras.
Authorities say Quesnel’s role in the altercation involved both physical violence and the use of a firearm. According to the warrant, Quesnel allegedly struck the victim repeatedly, contributing to the severe injuries, including the broken molar.
In addition, investigators allege Quesnel pulled out a gun during the confrontation, escalating what began as a verbal dispute into a dangerous and potentially deadly situation.Â
Records show the assault — including Quesnel pulling a gun from his waistband — was all recorded on surveillance footage that the employees collectively attempted to hide, destroy, and otherwise keep law enforcement from discovering and reviewing.Â
The March 19 incident, which unfolded in front of multiple employees at the towing business, has now resulted in at least two arrests as detectives continue to piece together the actions of those involved.
Police have not indicated whether additional suspects could face charges as the investigation remains ongoing.
Quesnel was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail. He’s since been released after posting a $25,500 bond.
