
Alina Ruzzano {David Volz}
Alina Ruzzano has a passion for cheerleading and has competed at high levels.
She was recognized for her achievements during the February 18 meeting as part of National Girls and Women in Sports Day. The day is officially observed on February 4.
Her father, Commissioner Tommy Ruzzano, presented her with a plaque.
A member of the Florida Atlantic University cheerleading program for five years, she was on the club cheer team for the first three years and the spirit cheer team for the final two years.
As a spirit cheerleader, she has cheered at football and basketball games and participated in competitions. She plays the flyer position on the team.
“I have always loved cheerleading, and I have enjoyed being on the FAU cheerleading team,” said Alina.
A 2020 graduate of Coral Glades High School, Alina was a member of three state champion competitive cheerleading teams.
She has a 3.8 grade point average in health science and plans to pursue a career in nursing.
