The City of Margate celebrated the reopening of Calypso Cove on Saturday with a party to introduce the children’s playground pool.
The new water playground has new slide tubes and a tipping bucket that dumps water on children as they enjoy the pool.
Mayor Arlene Schwartz was glad that the pool had reopened. “I am glad to see children and their parents having a great time today as families enjoy this pool,” she said.
Commissioner Antonio Caggiano was excited about the new amenities. “Look at the kids having fun in the pool. They enjoy being splashed with the water bucket and going down the slides. This pool brings joy to Margate residents,” he said.
Vice mayor Antonio Arserio brought his daughter Mila. “She is having a good time today, and so are other children. This pool offers fun for all,” he said.

The reopening event included a fun social event with a dinner and dessert. Families came and had fun together.
The reopening was delayed because a fire in the parking lot in June 2024 destroyed the slides about to be installed.
Calypso Cove is located at 6200 Royal Palm Boulevard. According to the website, it is open Monday through Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
