Patrick and Simba {Broward County Animal Care}
Broward County Animal Care is spotlighting two unique pets this week looking for their forever families—Patrick, a lively and affectionate American Staffordshire mix, and Simba, a gentle domestic shorthair cat. Both pets are fully vetted, microchipped, and ready to go home today, with adoption fees waived.
Patrick
Patrick (A2373509) is a stunning 2-year-old brindle American Staffordshire mix with a heart full of love and a personality that shines. He was abandoned and left tied outside a home in July 2024, but since arriving at Broward County Animal Care, he has become a staff favorite.
Described as energetic and fun-loving, Patrick thrives in an active household. He enjoys exploring, playing, and showing off his manners—especially when treats are involved. He knows how to sit on command and enjoys both adventure and affection in equal measure.
Patrick would do best in a home with adults or a family with older children. While he can be selective with other dogs, he may do well with a female canine companion after a slow and steady introduction. Ideally, he would thrive as the only pet in the home, soaking up all the attention he deserves.
Patrick is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, and his adoption fees are completely waived. He is ready to find a loving family.
Simba
Simba (A2414163) is a 7-year-old orange and white tabby cat with a heartwarming story. Found as a stray, his microchip traced back to a previous owner who had rehomed him before moving out of state, leaving Simba without anyone to claim him. Now, this sweet and affectionate feline is searching for a new family to call his own.
Currently living with two other cats at the shelter, Simba has started to come out of his shell, especially bonding with his feline roommate, Pokey. He loves attention and will rub against your legs for affection. His favorite treat? Temptations—this guy is a true snack enthusiast.
Like Patrick, Simba is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, and his adoption fees are waived. He’s ready to bring love and companionship to his forever home.
How to Meet Patrick and Simba
Both Patrick and Simba are available for adoption at Broward County Animal Care, located at 2400 SW 42nd Street in Fort Lauderdale. All adopted pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and receive their Broward County Pet Registration Tag—completely free of charge.
