Renovation Work at Calypso Cove is Almost Complete

Margate families will soon enjoy the new water playground equipment at the Calypso Cove water park.

The installation of new slide tubes in the children’s water playground area is nearly finished. The pool area’s resurfacing and final improvements are also being completed. According to J.R. VanWassenhove, spokesperson for Margate, Calypso Cove is scheduled to reopen in the spring of 2025.

According to VanWassenhove, the money for the improvements came from the parks bond, and the budget was $1.5 million.

The water park would have opened in the summer of 2024, but a fire in the parking lot in June destroyed the slide equipment that was about to be installed.

Calypso Cove is located at 6200 Royal Palm Boulevard.
