Breon Jalil Williams {BSO}
A man who became irate after being asked to leave a McDonald’s is now facing charges of trespassing and misusing the 911 emergency system.
According to a Margate Police Department incident report, Breon Jalil Williams, 38, of Coconut Creek, was arrested outside the Lakewood Plaza, located at 5555 West Atlantic Blvd, after officers say Williams had previously been issued a trespass warning from both the Lakewood Plaza and a nearby McDonald’s after becoming hostile when asked to leave.
According to the arresting officer, Williams was again asked to leave and initially exited the area but called 911 three times requesting a sergeant respond to the scene. During the third call, when dispatch asked if he had any weapons on him, Williams allegedly replied, “If law enforcement touches me, they will find out.”
Despite the prior warnings, Williams returned to the plaza and placed a fourth 911 call, this time falsely claiming he had been threatened with a firearm and needed an immediate police response.
Officers say Williams then contacted an off-duty officer stationed at the nearby Walmart, prompting Margate Police to respond to the location.
Upon arrival, officers confirmed Williams had made the emergency calls and had re-entered the location he had been warned not to return to.
Williams was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail. He was later released after posting a $650 bond.
