Margate children aged 14 and under can enjoy a day of fishing at Lemon Tree Park on March 7 with ‘Cops and Bobbers.’
The Margate Police Department and the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission will hold a morning of fishing and community. Residents in Margate can meet local community heroes, learn about fishing, and have some fun.
The fishing event will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Lemon Tree Park at 5511 Lakeside Drive.
Participants must bring their own fishing poles and bait. Bones Bait and Tackle in Margate has donated prize bags, according to the city.
Registration is limited to the first 35 participants. People can register at margatefl.com/CopsandBobbers.
Also, on March 7, from 7 am to 12 p.m., there will be a spring cleanup and garage sale at Oriole Park, 7055 NW 1st Street. People are encouraged to bring unused items from their homes to sell. Residents will be charged $15 per space, and non-residents will be charged $30 per space.
