Monarch High School’s football team improved to 5-1 this season following a 45-0 win over Olympic Heights Community High School.
“Big time win as we prepare for playoffs and district championship,” said Head Coach Calvin Davis. “Great focus and execution defensively.”
The Knights had three different quarterbacks combine to toss five touchdown passes, with Jack Spader leading the way with three. He finished with 303 passing yards while Jaeden Phillips and Mason Hall each threw for one.
Jabari Brady caught two of the touchdowns and finished with 203 receiving yards. Samari Reed also scored and had over 100 yards, along with touchdown catches from Terrell Lo-Ray and Jeffrey Wright. Defensively, Antonio Ward returned two fumbles for scores, while Gabriel Birnbaum led the team with ten tackles and four sacks.
The Knights will play McArthur High School in their next game on Friday, October 6, at 7 p.m. The Mustangs are 2-1-1 but lost 42-13 in their meeting during the 2022 season.
