Margate Police responded to various calls through December 16. Below is a detailed account of the incidents handled by local law enforcement during this period.

Grand Theft
Location: Best Buy, 3300 NW 62nd Ave
Details: On Dec. 2, 2024, at approximately 2:15 p.m., a male in his 30s entered the store and took a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 valued at $1,099.99.

Disrupting a School Function and Battery on a School Official – Arrest
Location: SunEd High School, 1117 Banks Rd
Details: Two male juveniles shoved two school employees, causing a disruption that led to a lockdown. Both juveniles were transported to JAC (Juvenile Assessment Center).

Location: 5400 W. Atlantic Blvd
Defendant: Joel Sizer (DOB: 06/21/1959)

Petit Theft – Stealing Tires
Location: 5200 W. Sample Rd
Details: On Dec. 11, 2024, at 1:19 a.m., Rodney Bernard Robinson (DOB: 06/21/1955) was arrested for stealing used tires from Tire Plus. He was released with a Notice to Appear (NTA).

Possession of Cocaine and Traffic Arrest
Location: 1400 N SR 7
Defendant: Aleen Linkhorn (DOB: 04/09/1980)

Grand Theft Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest, and Felony Warrant
Location: 5367 W. Atlantic Blvd
Defendant: Kimberly Fuller (DOB: 06/12/1988)

Retail Theft
Location: HomeGoods, 3320 NW 62nd Ave
Details: Two females stole approximately $901.20 worth of merchandise using distraction methods.

Theft
Location: 6609 Winfield Blvd Parking Lot
Details: At approximately midnight, a female, about 4’9″, wearing a dark brown hoodie, camouflage pants, and black-and-white sneakers, stole a white iPhone 15 after the victim handed it to her. The victim wishes to prosecute.

VOP and Possession of Cannabis – Arrest
Location: 1900 Rock Island Rd
Defendant: Dreyon Cephas (DOB: 11/25/2004)
Details: During a traffic stop, officers found approximately 17.44 grams of suspected cannabis. Cephas was on felony probation for Possession of Marijuana Over 20 Grams. He was arrested and transported to BSO.

Felony Warrant Arrest
Location: U-Haul, 1700 N SR 7
Defendant: Ronald Oestreich (W/M)
Details: Oestreich, who had been living in his vehicle, was found to have an active warrant for Possession of Cocaine. He was transported to NWMC for medical clearance before processing.

Burglary to Storage Unit
Location: Value Storage, 5185 Coconut Creek Parkway
Details: An unknown suspect cut the lock on a storage unit and removed multiple pairs of sneakers. The victim had not accessed the unit for approximately two months.

Domestic Battery and Depriving Use of 911
Location: 3330 Banks Rd, Apt ___
Defendant: James Destilus (DOB: 11/20/1996)
Details: Destilus battered the victim and smashed her cell phone as she attempted to call 911. A NIC was completed.

Domestic Violence Arrest
Location: 7684 NW 18th St, Apt ___
Details: Brianna Marinelli slapped the victim and was arrested. She was transported to BSO.

Felony Battery
Location: Wawa, 2000 N SR 7
Details: D’Angelo Edwards approached a 66-year-old victim sitting at a table and began punching him in the face and head.

Aggravated Assault
Location: NW 222nd St
Details: Patrick Facey threatened the victim and shoved a metal rod through the victim’s bedroom door in an attempt to gain access.

Burglary to Vehicle
Location: SW 61st Ave
Details: Between Dec. 15 at 9:00 p.m. and Dec. 16 at 6:00 a.m., a white Ford van was unlawfully entered through the rear window. Tools were reported stolen.

Burglary Conveyance
Location: Southgate Blvd
Details: The passenger-side window of a truck was shattered, and a receiver, transmitter, and a black backpack containing a work tablet were stolen.
