15 North Broward Prep Athletes Make Their Commitment Official on Signing Day

North Broward Prep officially holds its spring signing day. {NBP Athletics}

North Broward Prep had 15 student-athletes officially sign their letter of intent to play in college on Wednesday. 

Kat Bastos –  Soccer

Kat Bastos played on the North Broward Prep soccer team and is officially signed to play at the University of South Carolina Upstate. The defender scored nine goals in two years on the varsity team and helped the Eagles reach the State Championship with wins at Districts and Regionals. 

Isabella Harnzndez –  Swimming

Isabella Hernandez is the lone swimmer who signed and will compete in college at Nova Southeastern University next year.

Michel Peralta –  Football

Michel Peralta will be playing college football at Heidelberg University. He recorded 42 tackles and recovered a fumble. At the same time, the Eagles won four games with victories over Pompano Beach High School, Archbishop MacArthur, Hollywood Hills, and Coral Springs Charter during his senior year.

Michael Bagot – Football

Michael Bagot will also be heading to Heidelberg University next year after his run on the varsity football team. This past season, Bagot caught six passes for 82 yards and recorded ten tackles. 

Christian Dohler – Football and Track 

Christian Dohler is headed to Georgetown University and will be playing football and track and field. With the Eagles, Dohler played cornerback, kicker, and punter. He also finished first in District and Regionals in the long jump before coming in third in states. 

Grant Dodgrill – Fencing 

Grant Dodgrill is set to graduate this year and go to the University of Notre Dame to continue his fencing career in college.  

Yoel Tejada Jr. –  Baseball 

Yoel Tejada Jr. will go down as one of the best baseball players in school history and is signed to play at the University of Florida. The two-way player is a lifetime .359 hitter and has recorded six home runs, and is also 14-0 on the mound with an era of 1.74.

Jonathan Xuerub –  Baseball

In the Eagles’ Run to the State Championship, Jonathan Xuereb has been a critical piece this season. He will be playing at Appalachian State College and is coming off a three-home run game in their Regional Final victory. 

Jason Krause – Baseball 

Pitcher Jason Krause is now signed to play at the University of Tampa. This year, he has not been able to pitch after recovering from Tommy John Surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament inside the elbow.

Rachel Weiner – Lacrosse

North Broward prep’s leading scorer for the girl’s lacrosse team, Rachel Weiner, will play in college lacrosse at Northwestern University. Her team won seven games this past season despite a valiant effort in a 12-9 loss in the postseason against Cardinal Gibbons. 

Josh Krulik – Tennis

Josh Krulik is the lone senior on the varsity tennis team signed to play at McDaniel College in Maryland. The Eagles advanced to Regionals this year after coming in second in Districts

Maximus Fuentes – Basketball 

Maximus Fuentes is officially signed to play college basketball at Drexel University in Pennsylvania. In 101 games, he averaged 10.1 points per game and eclipsed 1,000 career points during his senior season.

Shea Laursen – Basketball 

Shea Laursen announced his commitment in April and is now signed to play at Oberlin College in Ohio. Before moving to NBP, he averaged 24.1 points per game on varsity. 

Justin Abson – Appalachian State basketball 

Justin Abson had an incredible high school career and is headed to Appalachian State University. He made the varsity team as a freshman and averaged 13.9 points and 11.1 rebounds during his high school career. He scored 32 points during his senior year against Miami-Dade and also eclipsed 1,000 points in his career. 

Adren Roberts – Basketball 

After playing basketball and running track and Field, Adren Roberts is signed to play at Barry University in Miami for baseball. In 26 games this year, he scored 239 points helping NBP to a 27-3 record and a trip to the Regional Semifinals.
