An armed robber was arrested after robbing a Wells Fargo in Margate Friday, police said.
The robber, whose name was not immediately made public, fled the bank at 400 N. State. Rd. 7 before police arrived. Margate Police and Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies located the man and his vehicle in Oakland Park, where he was taken into custody without incident, said Margate Police spokesman Lt. Michael Druzbik.
The man left a suspicious package inside the bank before fleeing, police said. The BSO bomb squad was responding to handle the package, according to Druzbik.
The FBI was also notified and would be responding to investigate, Druzbik said.
