Southeast Park in Margate. {City of Margate}
Margate residents got a financial break on improvements to Southeast Park.
During the November 4 meeting, City Manager Cale Curtis announced that Margate has received a $1 million reimbursement grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
The city has waited more than a year for the state reimbursement. The funds were used to complete work at Southeast Park, including artificial turf for two soccer fields, landscaping improvements, an overflow parking lot, and picnic facilities. The park is located at 655 Southwest 50th Avenue, according to Lisa Huriash, Margate’s spokesperson.
